Woman charged with felony DUI related to Lexington crash

Lauren M. Dangerfield, 31, been was charged with felony DUI resulting in death, possession of a controlled substance and driving under suspension.

The charges, according to Lance Cpl. David Jones, S.C. Highway Patrol. stem from an incident that occurred last Friday and took the life of 45-year-old Brian Patrick Orazen, of Lexington. Orazen was identified as the victim of a crash by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Dangerfield’s car crossed the center line on Nazareth Road and hit Orazen’s vehicle, according to the SCHP report. The accident occurred around 7 a.m. Orazen, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene from injuries he sustained in the collision, said Fisher.

Dangerfield was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was booked at the Lexington County Detention Center on Tuesday afternoon, according to Jones.
