Woman, 82, dies in Lexington County vehicle accident

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died as a result of a motor vehicle collision. The crash occurred at Amicks Ferry Road and Lake Tide Drive in Chapin at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Fisher, Ms. Nelva S. Lindler, 82, of Chapin was pronounced dead at the scene. Lindler, a passenger, was in a vehicle traveling south on Amicks Ferry Road that was struck in the side by another vehicle while making a left turn onto Lake Tide Drive. Lindler was wearing a seat belt when the incident occurred.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
