West Columbia Walmart reopened after transformer fire

Walmart Face book post from about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday: Good news we are back open and ready for business. We would to thank Dominion Energy for fast service and the West Columbia Fire Department for even faster service. Thanks to all our associates for the fast response time to get us up and running. Walmart West Columbia – Augusta Rd was closed by the West Columbia Fire Department for precautionary measures.

The closing of the store was reported via Facebook post by Walmart after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

WCFD Deputy Chief and Public Information Officer Marquis Solomon said there was a fire at a transformer outside, behind the store. Solomon said Dominion Energy was called to the scene to repair the transformer. The WCFD had cleared the store for reopening.
On Facebook, Walmart announced it would post an update when the store reopened. As of 1 p.m. the store had not announced it had reopened.

    I’m very curious on why an artical about a fire was put on here when this past Friday morning at the 7eleven on 12th street my wallet was stolen Off the counter and I haven’t seen anything about this. The West Columbia. Police had the security tape with a clear picture of the guy that stole my wallet. Wallet contained 352.00 cashnin it. I read thid daily. Maybe someone would notice this guy.
