West Columbia man is 1 of 2 killed at family gathering in Eastover

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts released the names of the two men who died in a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, around 5:20 p.m. The incident took place at 102 Henry Street, Eastover.

The two men got into an argument at a family gathering, according to a Richland County Sheriff’s Department source, and shot each other.

Woody Allen Goodwin, 49, of Dubbs Avenue, West Columbia, died at the scene. An autopsy indicated the cause of death to be due to a gunshot wound to the chest.
Horace Holmes, 47, of Anderson Street, Eastover, was transported from the scene by Richland County EMS to Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital where he died at 7:54 p.m. on

Saturday. An autopsy indicated the cause of death to be due to a gunshot wound to the chest.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
