Tip leads to arrest in last Friday’s fatal hit-and-run

An arrest has been made in connection to a fatal-hit-and-run incident that occurred last Friday. The man arrested has been identified as Kyle Andrew Roach, 33, according to Lance Cpl. David Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Jones said Roach was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Express Van at the time of the incident. Roach, who is in custody, has a bond hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Lexington County Detention Center. Jones said Roach’s arrest was the result of a tip.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was looking for a vehicle involved in the the hit-and-run with a bicycle in Lexington County. The hit-and-run occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. The victim was later identified as Mr. Tijhee Dijon Salley, 19, of Lexington. He was pronounced dead at the hospital a day after the incident, as a result of traumatic injuries.

Salley was riding his bicycle along YMCA Road near Ruff Acres Lane when he was struck by the vehicle.
