At the Chapin-vs-Brookland-Cayce football game, Friday, some BC alumni presented an authentic jersey that was worn by Bearcat players in 1949, 1950 and 1951. The jersey belonged to former player Harold “Hambone” Jones. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who was killed in the one-vehicle accident at approximately 1:10 a.m. on Sunday. The accident occurred in the 500 block of Happy Town Road in Gaston. The victim is James Nathan Corbitt, 59, of  Gaston. Second weekend fatality recorded in Lexington County

Another person has died in a Lexington County vehicle accident this weekend. After Midnight Sunday,  a crash near George Bennett Road resulted in a fatality. The accident involved a 2006 Ford Mustang that veered off the road and hit a tree. The incident was reported by the S.C. Highway Patrol. Airport defeated Richland Northeast 16-0 in Friday night high school football action. Chapin beat Brookland-Cayce 35-25. Airport and BC played at home. Airport’s win keeps the Eagles undefeated at 4-0. BC’s loss to Chapin drops the Bearcat’s record to 1-3.
