Midland Dixie Youth Coaches Pitch qualifies for World Series

The Midland Dixie Youth Coaches Pitch team won the state title earlier this month.  Midland Dixie Youth teams play in Pine Ridge.

Tournament scores from Saturday and Sunday:

South Carolina 11, Florida 6
South Carolina 16, Texas 2 (4 innings)
South Carolina 10, Arkansas 0
SC plays Tennessee Monday at 11:30 a.m.

“This coaches pitch team is very special, and extremely talented,” said Stephen Knight, Midland Dixie Youth president. “Not only did they win the District 4 championship, and the state title, but they did so without ever suffering a loss. That’s special.”

The Midland Dixie Youth Coaches Pitch team head coach is Michael Tyler. Assistants are: Brad Chavis, Kale Green and Kevin Johnson.

The team leaves Friday (July 27) for the opening ceremonies of the 2018 World Series in Lumberton, NC. Midland DYB had a special send off for the team, Thursday.

The Midland Dixie Youth Minors All-Stars boys baseball team won the 2018 AAA State Tournament. The Midland Minors qualified for the Dixie Youth World Series, also in Lumberton, NC

Knight commended the volunteer coaches, players and parents for spending a countless number of hours to make the league topnotch.

Knight said teams based at the Midland Dixie Youth complex have won five DYB World Series Championships, it is the most decorated league in all of Dixie Youth Baseball.
