Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green is reporting that Robert Howard Adams, Jr., 43, of Columbia, has been arrested by the Lexington Police Department and charged with Stalking and the Use of a Destruction Device.

Beginning in late October, Robert Adams is believed to have been involved in stalking a victim who lives in Lexington County and who had her cable television disabled and then her vehicle tires flattened during separate incidents.

In the early morning hours of Monday, Robert Adams detonated an M-80 firecracker, police said, causing damage to the front doors at Cost Cutters located at 100 Old Cherokee Road in Lexington, which is the victim’s place of employment. Evidence of the explosion with glass pieces from the door, duct tape, and the exterior packaging of the M-80 were found throughout the interior of the store.

During the investigation, detectives said they were able to link Robert Adams to the damage at Cost Cutters as well as the other incidents.

On Tuesday, Robert Adams was arrested by the Lexington Police Department and charged with Stalking and the Use of a Destruction Device.

Robert Adams is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center with a bond of $55,000.00. If released, Robert Adams has been court ordered to wear a monitoring device and to have no contact with the victim.
