Lexington Two will have new assistant principals at several schools

Lexington Two will have new assistant principals at several schools for the 2018-19 academic year.

On the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. William James, the Lexington Two Board of Trustees has approved the following Assistant Principal appointments:

Annette Ariail, Cayce Elementary. She is moving from Lexington Two’s Pineview Elementary, where she has been teaching since 2009. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.

Takeela Bates, Congaree/Wood Early Education Center. She most recently served as fourth grade lead teacher at Bridge Creek Elementary in Richland Two, after previously teaching in the Newberry County School District. She has a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and master’s degrees from Walden University and Grand Canyon University.

Angela Brown, Congaree/Wood Early Education Center. She most recently served as Assistant Principal at Wood Elementary, having earlier taught in Lexington One schools. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.

Rob Burggraaf, Springdale Elementary. He most recently served as Elementary Instructional Technology Coach for the district, after previously teaching fifth grade at Wood Elementary. He has a bachelor’s degree from Cornerstone University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

Laura Clark joins Saluda River Academy for the Arts. She most recently served as Lead Interventionist at Lexington One’s Lexington Elementary School, after previously working in various teaching roles at several private schools. She has a bachelor’s degree from Seminole State College of Florida and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

Alicia Dickerson will become Assistant Principal of Instruction at Brookland-Cayce High, after previously serving as Assistant Principal there. She also previously served as a teacher in Lexington Two and Lexington One. She has a bachelor’s degree from Newberry College and a master’s degree from Capella University.

Sam Masone is moving to Busbee Creative Arts Academy from Airport High, where he served most recently as Administrative Assistant Principal. Masone, who started his teaching career in 2007 with Lexington Two, has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.

Le’Shaun Mathis will join Airport High. He has worked in Richland Two, Aiken County and Lexington Two schools, most recently as a teacher at Pine Ridge Middle. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina, and master’s degrees from August State University and the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Judith McCray will join Airport as Assistant Principal of Instruction. She has worked in Calhoun County, Lexington-Richland 5 and Kershaw County schools, and most recently served at Camden High School as Assistant Principal/Test Coordinator. She has a bachelor’s from Columbia College, master’s degrees from Webster University and the University of South Carolina, and a doctorate from Walden University.

Christopher Pumphrey started his career in 2002 as a teacher at Airport, where he has worked ever since. Pumphrey has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.

Allyson Stoy-Long joins Cayce Elementary, moving from Lexington One where she served in several school and district positions, most recently as Title I Funding Administrator. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.
