Lexington County Coroner says autopsy scheduled for body found in Lake Murray

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher states that the body of missing boater Durham DeLaura has been recovered from Lake Murray at approximately 10 a.m. on Sunday, near the area of Lake Murray known as Sandy Beach.

The body was found with the help of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

The body was discovered in the water by a Lexington County Sheriff’s Deputy operating one of the county’s Marine Patrol boats. LCSD and SC DNR have been actively searching the area for the missing boater since August 25. An autopsy will be performed on Wednesday to determine the cause of death for Mr. DeLaura.
