Cayce Public Safety opening eclipse Emergency Operations Center

The Cayce Department of Public Safety will be opening its Emergency Operations Center at 8 a.m. on Monday. Cayce Public Safety opening eclipse Emergency Operations Center.

The Department will also have representatives monitoring the State EOC and the City of Columbia EOC to provide our citizens with an immediate exchange of information and allow for plenty of time to coordinate officers and first responders throughout the City. Cayce DPS Director, Byron Snellgrove, stated, “The citizens of Cayce should be rest assured that we have more than enough assets and officers across the city to handle any situation that arises.”

Because property crimes often take place when a lot of people are attending an event in a small area, Cayce DPS is asking citizens and visitors to be mindful of their surroundings. Be sure to lock your vehicle and keep all valuables out of site. Most items reported stolen from vehicles are a result of the vehicle being unlocked and/or valuables left out in the open and easily seen through the windows.

DPS asks to please remember that crowds and traffic are expected to be heavy so be patient, remain vigilant and report all suspicious activity. In the event of an emergency please call 911. If you need to reach our dispatch center for non-emergencies, please call 803-794-0456.
