Brookland-Cayce wins first game, Airport prevails in scrimmage

Brookland-Cayce defeated Lake Marion 41-0 in high school football Friday night. The game was played at Lake Marion, in Santee.

School started for BC on Thursday, and this week is called Week Zero for high school football teams. Not all teams play in Week Zero. It was a non-conference game for BC.

Brookland-Cayce plays crosstown rival Airport next Friday at BC. Airport played a scrimmage Friday versu Columbia High. Airport prevailed 37-12 in the scrimmage. Airport student reporter Hannah Stone was at the scrimmage she said: Paxton Brooks, a recent Tennessee commitment, kicked a 39-yard field goal and made all of his PATs.

Justin Allen got the job done on his feet with two rushing touchdowns.  Brandon Caughman hit Zach Roberts for a TD.

After a slow start, Airport Principal Brad Coleman said it “Its not how you start, but how you finish”.
