Man arrested on murder and sexual assault charge

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department investigators have charged a Gaston man with murder in the fatal beating of Joanne White Taylor.  According to arrest warrants, 41-year-old Peter Lynn Coffey killed Taylor at her Gaston home sometime between Aug. 7-9. Townhouses changing West Columbia skyline

The Flow townhouses continue to rise upward beside the Bridgepoint condominiums and the city’s Water Filtration Plant in West Columbia. Although it may be modest, the new construction, next to Riverwalk, is changing the skyline. Where a vacant lot, and the O’Brien Supply Co. building, once was, the shape of the townhouse complex becomes more apparent each day.
